WORKSHOP PROPOSAL FORM – 10th Summitversary

Woodhull's Sexual Freedom Summit Proposal - 2019

DEADLINE FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSAL SUBMISSIONS IS FEBRUARY 14, 2019.

Before you begin, please make a copy for yourself of your proposal (just in case!). We will not be providing copies!

The primary presenter should be the person submitting and responsible for the session. This is the person we will use for our contact.

If you are proposing a panel, we ask that you limit the panel to no more than three (3) presenters and a moderator. Please clearly indicate which individual will be the moderator. All names and contact information MUST be included for all panels.

Please be sure you have all the information for all presenters before you begin the proposal. You should have their bio, their CV or resume (or why you believe they're qualified to present on the topic), a high resolution photograph of them, their twitter handle (if they're willing to share it), their pronouns, their full address and their email address.

Workshops are 90 minutes.

Additionally, if you believe your workshop might fit in one of the tracks we’re considering for the Summit, please indicate which track. If none, don’t worry - we have plenty of workshops slots outside of the track.

Tentative tracks for 2019 are Making Sexual Freedom More Accessible, Pleasure, Skill Sharing and, Voicing Barriers Facing the TGNC Community.

Making Sexual Freedom More Accessible
Discussions of sexual freedom are often riddled with ableist, ageist, and classist assumptions about what people can do. Racism and white supremacy also restrict the accessibility of discussions and our organizations. Workshops in this track will draw specific attention to making our sexual freedom movement one that truly addresses the needs and desires of all human beings.
Pleasure
Every human being has a right to sexual pleasure. But, as with many rights, there’s no guarantee that we have the tools to enjoy that right. Let's change that with this track. Be sexy, be informative, be creative, and let's share some pleasures!
Skill Sharing
Ever wondered how to write a fundraising plan? Lobby your congresspeople? Begin a grassroots organizing campaign? Want to know how to grow your audience online or become an adult sexuality educator? The workshops in this track will provide hands-on skill-building instruction in a wide range of areas. What can you teach people how to do?
Voicing Barriers Facing the TGNC Community
Workshops in this track aim to center the voices and experiences of the TGNC (Trans/Gender non-conforming) community, including but not limited to: healthcare, education, public policy, legal barriers and advances, immigration, activism, racial justice, access to services and institutions, as well as institutional and interpersonal violence and stigmatization. This track will educate and mobilize advocates on how to better understand issues facing TGNC folks, while providing strategies to better support these communities.

Sessions will be scheduled on Thursday, August 15, Friday, August 16, and Saturday, August 17th. Sunday, August 18 will be our Roundtable and brunch, as well as the Summit close.

PRESENTATION PROPOSAL (IMPORTANT: We give the highest priority to workshops that include a human rights framework, identify an issue or need and focus on a solution or future vision.)

Example: What new information, tool, strategy, or action will participants acquire or take with them when they leave?
