Paige Leigh Baker-Braxton
Dr. Baker-Braxton attended Georgetown University receiving undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Gender Studies. She pursued both a MS and Doctorate in multicultural Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern. Dr. Baker-Braxton trained as a Psychology Fellow in 1 of 10 national sites specializing in LGBT Mental Health in the VA. With over 8 years experience working in the LGBT community, Dr. Baker-Braxton brought her expertise to Howard Brown Health in 2016. She was hired to spearhead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the first LGBTQ specific sexual assault response program in the nation: in.power*. Under Dr. Baker-Braxton’s supervision, in.power*: The Sexual Harm Response Project has served over 195 unique survivors of sexual violence in 2016 and has revolutionized the way sexual assault response teams address sexual assault in the queer community. In addition to her work at Howard Brown Health, Dr. Baker-Braxton is also a practicing Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in Chicago specializing in LGBT Mental Health and trauma.
