Liz Thompson is the Associate Director of Sexual and Reproductive Health at Howard Brown Health in Chicago, IL. She holds a BA in Sociology from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Public Health with a concentration in community health sciences from University of Illinois at Chicago. Liz has ten years of experience implementing and managing HIV/STI prevention and health education programs in Chicago, focusing primarily on LGBTQ communities and people experiencing homelessness. During her tenure at Deborah’s Place, a supportive housing program for women experiencing homelessness, she organized and led efforts to transition their service model to one that is inclusive and affirming of transgender and non-binary participants. Liz also helped launch the Chicago Female Condom Campaign in 2010, developed a toolkit for community-based FC2 promotion, and represented Illinois at the Center of Health and Gender Equity’s Healthy Future Action Summit in 2012. She is especially interested in harm reduction, reproductive justice, and trauma-informed service provision.
