I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a black feminist and a student of life. My work focuses on the empowerment of womyn, the validation of life and experience, healing from broken places and valuing of our humanity. My training is in marriage & family therapy, couple & sex therapy, LGBTQ+ affirmation and human sexuality education. I carry two master’s degrees in these areas and am currently writing my dissertation for the Ph.D. that has consumed the last 4 years of my life. I am passionate about helping people become the best versions of themselves in the most profound way they can. I am mother to two angel-baby twin daughters, Aviva Monroe & Jora Nirali who have pushed me to be a better version of myself in their short time here. In their honor & in commitment to raising awareness of perinatal loss in the black community, I started www.blackangelmom.com which is a blog dedicated to this challenging topic. I am a member of WOCSHN (Women of Color Sexual Health Network), AAMFT (American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists), ABSC (Association of Black Sexologists & Clinicians) and the Black Scholars in Human Sexuality (Widener chapter). I am also a member of Gamma Eta Rho – the Human Sexuality Honor Society as of 2016.
